Taboom Media is proud to announce the release of the new Out and Proud Media Guide, created in partnership with the Southern Africa Litigation Centre, COSPE Onlus, Centre for Civil and Political Rights (CCPR), Nyasa Rainbow Alliance (NRA), Rock of Hope (ROH), and Trans Research, Education, Advocacy and Training (TREAT). This guide supports the Out & Proud Project’s overall objective — to improve the legislative frameworks and non-discriminatory environments favoring LGBTQI+ people in Southern Africa.

The new resource provides journalists, the media, and regional human rights defenders with new tools for media engagement. It offers recommendations for effective dialogue with the media, gives an overview of LGBTQI+ media coverage in Southern Africa (Taboom’s contribution), and provides actionable information about existing media laws and codes of ethics in Eswatini, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.
