Taboom leads LGBTQI+ media engagement trainings across Malawi

In October 2019, Taboom Media held three workshops for journalists and civil society leaders in Lilongwe and Blantyre.

Our journalism trainings drew nearly 50 reporters, editors, and publishers from leading online and offline, independent and state-owned, radio, TV and print outlets. They were conducted in partnership with the Blantyre-based Centre for Solutions Journalism. The day-long workshops focused on ethical media coverage of sexual and gender minorities in Malawi.

Our one-day media engagement strategies workshop in Lilongwe for 20 civil society leaders from LGBTQI+ organizations across the country was organized in partnership with Ivy Foundation. It focused on developing effective media campaigns and communicating through news media.
