Taboom Media, a journalism training and advocacy organization, has received support from the Gill Foundation to educate media about anti-LGBTQI+ organizations.
As part of the grant, Taboom Media will create and distribute a reporting guide with background, tips, and sources to help journalists better investigate and report on how political, civil society, and faith groups in the U.S. fuel anti-LGBTQI+ hatred abroad.
The reporting guide will be launched at a high-level journalism training event. The panel will outline the rhetoric and tactics, along with funding sources and streams, that anti-LGBTQI+ faith actors are using to undermine rights abroad. Journalists will learn about public education campaigns and other projects fighting LGBTQI+ discrimination and hate speech.
