Taboom’s co-founders Brian Pellot and Debra Mason, in association with Religion News Foundation (RNF), the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and Religion News Service, hosted a second four-day workshop on covering religion and SSOGIE (sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression) issues for 18 journalists from 16 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. New countries represented this year were Ethiopia, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Togo in addition to Cameroon, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Zambia, all represented at last year’s training.
